This 1973 Oldsmobile 48 inch Cotner-Bevington "Cotington" Ambulance,  started in the State of Iowa as they had a 5 beacon requirement. The car was then later spotted in the Plainview , Nebraska where it was white with an orange belt. It was purchased by a private party in Missouri and tricked out with Kansas City Chief's decals and used for tailgate parties. Joe DiCorpo of Atlanta, GA, saved the car and restored back to a ambulance.

Originally, the center roof had a MARS 888 beacon and a Model 175  Both were  replaced, the Mars 888 with a Fed Sig WL Siren and the Model 175 was changed to a Red Model 174. The rear roof had two Model 15's which I had re-installed on each corner back to original.

Recently while attending some collector car shows, I had several individuals make passing comments that I had gone a little too far with the beacons on my 1973 Oldsmobile. In fact, some even questioned the authenticity of that many beacons being original on a Cotner-Bevington.

An unknown collector was kind enough to send me this photo of a 1971 Oldsmobile Cotner-Bevington and WOW, does the light configuration look a little familiar. Yes, guys the lights are to spec and if you look a little closer the orginal switch panel labels in my car match all the roof beacons.

This 1971 even has ditch lights, who knows maybe I'll add those ! "Just kidding"

Anyway, thought the photo was real cool and made a good addition to the site.
